FAQ

Is RepoSentry the same as SGD?

No. SGD is the methodology — documented at docs.sgd.wealthtechpros.com. RepoSentry is the SaaS-lite GitHub App that helps you implement and observe SGD in your repositories. You can use one without the other, but they're designed to work together.

Does my code leave GitHub?

No. RepoSentry is a GitHub App that reads repository metadata, runs PR checks, and (only if you enable it) opens remediation pull requests. Your source stays in GitHub.

What access does the GitHub App need?

Enough to read repository metadata, post PR status checks, and optionally open remediation PRs. You choose all or selected repositories at install time, and can change it any time in GitHub.

Do I have to adopt everything at once?

No — that's the point of "lite". Connect a single repository, turn on one or two checks, and expand from there. Nothing requires a rewrite or a big-bang migration.

How is my role decided?

From your GitHub organisation membership, the first time you sign in. See Roles & access.

Which repositories and orgs can I see?

Only organisations where the App is installed and you are a GitHub member, and within them the repositories the App can access. Everything is scoped per organisation.

How does it fit our existing process?

RepoSentry runs alongside whatever you use — Scrum, Kanban, trunk-based, etc. It adds governance and observability around your PRs and repos; it doesn't replace your workflow.

Where do I get help?
